EVENTS FOR PARENT/TEACHER WEEKEND: Sat. Oct 9th
ALL DAY- B106 open for parents to socialize and meet. Connect w/ Prom
Banquet Chair Barbara Martin, Mystery Penguin Weekend Chair Jane Karker,
and MSSMPG President Terrie Frisbie. MSSM Booster Club selling homemade
baked goods nearby!
9:30-10 and 11-11:30 Guest House: get updated on options
for revamping the
guest house and schedule a tour. (B106 or adjoining room- Alice Chartrand
)
12-1 Grant Committee: help fund parent originated projects and
brainstorm what those projects should be (B106 or adjoining room- Lee
Karker )
3-4 Publicity Committee: meet with Deb McGann re further publicity and
outreach for the school (B106 or adjoining room- Meg Zellinger
.)
4-5 MSSMPG Annual Meeting and Election of Officers:
all members welcome.
New member registrations taken at the door starting
at 3:30. Nominations for executive committee will be taken from the floor.
(Limestone Community School Auditorium).

5-6 DINNER (Easy, enjoyable cafeteria meal available: only$4.50!)
6:30 VARIETY SHOW (Don't miss this great entertainment, only $3 !!)
MSSM Yearbook/Cartulary: table for pre-order of 2004-2005
books will be set
up at MSSM on Parent/Teacher weekend. Deposit is $20. Also available for
sale will be '03-'04 Cartularies for those who missed it last year (great
memories and great graphics!).

other MSSM parents Wed Oct 20th. The last meetings were a blast!

Examples of MSSM Parents Group Activities 2003-2004:
MSSMPG Website (mssmvoice.org) formed and
maintained by MSSMPG parent and
computer analyst, Paul Meyer.
Professional facilitator and MSSMPG Student Life Chairperson, John McCann,
led a communications workshop at MSSM Jan '04 for student leaders,
faculty, RA staff and administration. MSSMPG parents were present to assist.
Mystery Penguin Weekend, complete with coffee shop, scavenger hunt, and
live dance music was a smash success in Mid-March. Parent and MSSMPG
member Jane Karker, former recreational youth counselor, was the mastermind
and coordinated the event with other parents.
Combined lobbying by administration, Board, local legislators and MSSMPG
parents led to $32,000 being reinstated in MSSM's state budget.
MSSMPG Parents Barbara Martin and Alice Chartrand coordinated parent
support for Chef Tom Robinson's delicious Prom Banquet in April and to help
students with last minute prom preparations.
MSSMPG Communications Chair David Haines is currently serving on the MSSM
Board of Trustees Ad Hoc Search Committee for a new Executive Director.
MSSMPG members Meg Zellinger and Jim Dunn are creating a spread sheet for
storing publicity contact info for Deb McGann's admissions outreach.
