"When is the Mystery Penguin Weekend!?",
many of you have inquired. After
snooping around we found out: March 18-20th.
This annual happening is fun and zany, just the antidote for cabin fever.
There's still time to help with donations (see next item).
Any parents
interested in volunteering,
contact: Jane Karker,
janekarker@earthlink.net hm 354-0524 home, cell 595-8005 (see web page for
photos).
Note re Activities Fund Raising: $1000 has been raised thus far by the
Parents Group for supporting this year's Student Activities. Our goal is
$4,000.
Thanks to all of you who have contributed or who are about to! The
details of how this money is being spent are on our web site at "Student
Life/Enrichment Committee" link. (send check payable to MSSM Foundation
"for MSSMPG Activity Fund"- to Joe Siddiqui c/o MSSM).

the publisher. If you have sent your $20 deposit please send the balance of
$15 now. If you haven't reserved one, you're just in time: send $35 today!

At MSSM most students go to the PROM: April 15th.
You don't have to have
a date. You can rent a tux or make a cool outfit (duct tape suits have been
known in the past) or dress in a ball gown or an embroidered smock. Rumor:
this year's decorating theme and colors may have to do with tranquility and
nature.
PROM BANQUET is prepared by Chef Tom Robinson and is top restaurant
quality. Parents largely stay home, but some lucky ones VOLUNTEER to
decorate and serve at the PROM BANQUET, thus being permitted glimpses of
the production. Web has photos. Contact Barb Martin to volunteer:
barbnco@maine.rr.com Tel # 839-3498.

MSSMPG LEADERSHIP CHANGES: new names now top the Gladfly since its last
printing. A new set of MSSMPG executive committee officers was voted in
by membership in October. Subsequently Jon Eaton resigned and the
Steering Committee voted in new Treasurer Sylvia Lowry.
President Bruce
Hancock has just resigned due to other commitments, so Vice Pres David
Haines will move into his position. Thank you for representing us well in
these last few months, Bruce. Thank you to Jon Eaton, Alice Chartrand,
Terrie Frisbie and Jane Karker for your hard work last year. Anyone
wishing to volunteer for Vice President position please contact: Steering
Cmtte c/o Alice Chartrand (chartran@midcoast.com) 594-0688.
PUT IN YOUR TWO CENTS:
MSSMPG Steering Committee members advise the exec.
committee and vote (usually via email) on the important stuff. Current
members include executive members plus Karen Donlan, David Zellinger, Rick
Bergeron and Terrie Frisbie (Past President). We'd love to have more
voices especially from north and downeast. If interested contact David
Haines (dhaines@abacus.bates.edu)
